Chapter 35 Awakening of Ghosts and Gods
Chapter 35 Awakening of Ghosts and Gods
The past few weeks have been unusually peaceful, and the entire Victory Team has taken turns resting for a period of time.
Lin Yeming practically lived between the Victory Team and the martial arts hall, but unfortunately, there were very few people using whip techniques now, and Li Qing could only teach him some basics.
Even so, he studied very diligently and his whip technique was quite good.
Horii, who came with him, was covered in sweat.
However, he said the effect was good, and the feeling of weakness in his body was disappearing.
Lin Yeming received a message from Horii before he even arrived at headquarters today, saying that someone was specifically looking for him by name.
This puzzled him greatly, as he didn't know many people here, and logically no one should be looking for him.
And they went directly to the workplace.
With this in mind, he arrived at headquarters early.
After handing the breakfast that Takuma had asked him to bring to Mayumi, he went to the rest room to change into his team uniform.
Recently, Tomo has been training with them at the boxing gym, and some of his international matches have been temporarily canceled.
He was still somewhat traumatized by that plane attack.
After changing his clothes, Lin Yeming arrived at the command room and saw the mysterious man dressed in a well-tailored, luxurious monk's robe, chatting and laughing with Horii.
He recognized the other person; it was the raccoon monk.
The other person seemed to sense Lin Yeming's gaze as well. He turned around, smiled, and said, "Long time no see, Mr. Yeming."
Lin Yeming walked over and looked at the other person with some curiosity.
In his memory, although he and the other person knew each other, they weren't close friends.
Seemingly sensing Lin Yeming's confusion, the monk smiled and said, "I've come to see you again because I have something to tell you. I wonder if it's convenient to talk here?"
"I almost forgot, I haven't had breakfast yet."
Horii slapped his forehead and forcefully dragged the curious Nori out.
Once outside, Nozomi broke free from Horii and called out, "Horie, I've already had breakfast..."
Horii thought to himself, "Why is this guy so straightforward?"
I didn't see them say that because they didn't want them to hear it...
"Then eat more... Come on, it's on you."
"Sigh, please don't... Okay, I'll walk by myself."
Thanks to his recent physical training, he easily pulled Ye Rui away.
“They’ve left, now you can speak.”
"The soundproofing here is excellent."
Lin Yeming sat down next to him and asked.
The monk nodded and looked at Lin Yeming, saying, "I've come to tell you about the resurgence of ghosts and gods."
"The resurgence of ghosts and spirits?"
Lin Yeming was taken aback. He was quite familiar with this. It was a childhood trauma for him because of his regional background. He liked these kinds of supernatural stories.
But what he never expected was that it was the other party who contacted him.
The monk nodded and said in a solemn tone, "This ghost is called the Two-Faced Ghost, also known as the Sukunaga or the Two-Faced Sukunaga."
Lin Yeming asked calmly, "Since you know the name of this ghost, then you should know about ghosts and gods."
The monk was somewhat surprised by the other person's composure, but he didn't think much of it and continued to explain:
"According to the information I have, the demons sealed in Mount Sukuna are about to break free of their seal."
"That ghost has lived for over a hundred years, and its resurrection this time would probably be even more terrifying than before."
"These are what my friend told me."
Lin Yeming pointed to himself and asked with some confusion, "Why are you telling me all this, or rather, why are you getting involved?"
The monk smiled upon hearing this and said, "The Victory Team is reliable; it's not just humans who live in this world."
"I'm taking my leave."
The monk's ears twitched as he heard footsteps outside, and he bowed respectfully.
Lin Yeming paused for a few seconds before saying, "Let's protect this planet together!"
The monk smiled, put his hands together, and nodded.
"It seems you two had a good talk."
Horii walked in and asked, looking at the monk's back.
Lin Yeming then told Horii about this.
"Ghosts and gods are reviving? Are you sure you're not joking?"
Horii looked at Lin Yeming with a hint of hesitation on his face.
Do I look like I'm joking?
Lin Yeming rolled his eyes and looked at Horii speechlessly.
Horii scratched his head, gave an awkward smile, and then said, "Let's report this to the captain first."
Lin Yeming nodded and told Ju Jianhui about the situation.
"The resurgence of ghosts and spirits?"
As Izayoi looked at Sukunayama on the computer screen, her beautiful eyebrows furrowed slightly.
"Don't spread this news yet, it could easily cause panic."
"understand!"
She hesitated slightly before saying, "Yoru, why don't you go to the scene with Horii and report anything unusual immediately?"
"Roger that!"
After hanging up the communicator, Megumi looked at Daigo and Rena, who were having a great time, shook her head helplessly, and left, turning to walk away.
She was on vacation recently and wanted to take her child to the zoo, but she ended up spotting two of her men there.
Horii and Hayashi Yomei set off in their patrol car.
"Uemura, is this really the place?"
"If I can't find you, I'll bury you here."
"Don't scare me."
"Ah, I've got it, look over there."
Uemura, Honda, and Toyota are a newly formed gang of thieves.
They came here because they had unexpectedly discovered an old mountain god temple in Shangcun, and there were hardly any people there.
Honda took out his livelihood tool, fumbled around for a moment, and unlocked it.
Toyota exclaimed, "Truly a master!"
“That’s too easy,” Honda said, tossing the lock away.
Uemura remarked, "However, it also left a lot of fingerprints."
However, since the area was deserted, they simply wrapped the lock in a cloth, wiped it clean, and threw it away.
Upon opening the temple door and looking inside, one is greeted by stone walls covered with talismans.
In the very center stands a rather large bronze statue, holding a long halberd with one hand raised in a palm position.
Honda swallowed hard as he looked at the eerie and terrifying interior, then forced himself to remain calm and said, "His appearance is truly frightening!"
Uemura had done his homework and knew some information about the contents; otherwise, if they weren't valuable, it would have been a waste of time: "Because it's a bronze statue of a swordsman specifically designed to suppress demons and monsters."
What is this thing?
A box is placed in front of the statue.
"It's best not to touch this. There's a sword inside, and it's the kind of sword that can exorcise demons."
"How can we give up such a treasure? Let's take it with us!"
Upon hearing Toyota's words, Uemura opened his mouth and tacitly agreed.
Honda, however, exclaimed in terror, "What exorcism?"
"I don't want to be killed as a demon!"
"You good-for-nothing! If you could exorcise demons, you would have been eliminated long ago after doing so many bad things."
After Uemura shouted angrily, the other party finally quieted down.
One person was holding the bronze statue, and the other took out a sword.
Wait a minute, Honda, put the lock on!
As the three were about to leave, the statue suddenly clasped its hands together, startling him.
