Chapter 5 Newcomer Gift Pack
Chapter 5 Newcomer Gift Pack
After the jailer left, the tense expressions of the Wen family members immediately relaxed.
It was Wenwen's first time entering a prison cell, and she was quite curious, looking around the cell.
The prison cell was located on several underground floors, and there was a thick, musty smell that was so strong it was pungent.
This cell block is quite large, with two rooms on the left and two on the right, and a passageway about 20 meters long in the middle. At the end of the passageway are a few steps, and at the top of the stairs is a large iron door with only a small window.
Once the iron gate was closed, there was still a little natural light inside the room.
Wenwen wandered around, grabbing the railing at the door and peering across.
It turned out that the light was coming from a small hole in the corner of the opposite cell.
She walked along, eventually leaning against the middle railing.
Right now, only their family is in jail. The Wen family's house is on the left side of the corridor, with the woman and children in the inner room. The adult men are in the outer room.
My family is busy behind me.
"Sister-in-law, there's some dry grass here. Let me tidy it up, then help Mother over to sit down..."
Third Aunt (Wei Chunyan, the eldest daughter of the second wife of the Wei family, a wealthy merchant family in the south) looked around the prison cell and then turned to greet them.
"Second sister-in-law, there aren't any stones in that corner over there. I'll tidy them up in a bit, and you can lie down there with the kids..."
After saying that, he turned around and instructed, "You kids, stand aside and wait a bit, it'll be over soon..."
"Third daughter-in-law, don't do it all by yourself, let's all work together," Grandmother said.
“Mother is right, Chunyan, let’s do it together.”
"Yes, everyone together..."
The otherwise harmonious and busy conversation was interrupted by a teasing voice coming from behind Wenwen.
"This guy, if you didn't know better, you'd think he was going to jail. The fuss he put on for you guys, tsk tsk..."
"Madam, how long do you plan to stay here? Why don't you tidy things up a bit?" Wenwen's third uncle (Wen Qikang) asked with a mischievous smile.
Upon hearing this, Wenwen couldn't help but chuckle.
Third Uncle followed up with, "Sanlang, tell me, how long are we staying?"
"Third Uncle, you can stay as long as you like. The whole family can be together, and there'll be plenty of food and drink. Hehe~~~"
Hehe~~ Hee hee~~
A few low laughs suddenly echoed through the cell.
But Grandmother couldn't stand it: "Third son, what nonsense are you spouting? Have some sense of propriety and get to work."
In no time, everyone was busy with their own tasks.
Wenwen turned around, her eyes bright, and looked up at her third uncle and third brother, waving to them and saying, "Third uncle and third brother have such a good attitude."
Wenwen's third uncle looked at the young girl in front of him and didn't know what to say. The girl used to be very shy and always looked timid. She would never praise people with her head held high like she does now, let alone look people in the eye.
This unexpected turn of events has caused such a significant change in my niece; I wonder if it's a blessing or a curse.
His eyes reddened: "Wen'er, don't be afraid, your third brother and I will take care of things at home."
She didn't know what exactly those words touched on, but the images in Wenwen's mind came out in fragments. She could only assume that it was the original owner's emotional resonance, or perhaps the lingering affection of family ties in her soul.
Realizing this, her eyes reddened and instantly filled with tears.
Wenwen's third brother (Wen Chengxi) spoke up at the right moment: "Wen'er, don't worry, I have a feeling that everything will be alright in our family. Go and sleep at Grandma's place, and everything will be fine when you wake up... Go ahead."
As Wenwen listened to her third brother's various attempts to comfort her, her emotions fluctuated greatly. In order not to worry them, she forced a smile and said, "Third Uncle, Third Brother, I believe in you."
Just then, her grandmother called to her, "Wen'er, come here."
When Wenwen came over, she saw that everyone had been seated. Her eldest sister was at the back, then her grandmother, with space left for her next to her grandmother. To her right was her younger brother, then her mother, and then the rest of the family lined up one after another.
Wenwen lay down next to her grandmother, looking quite carefree. She muttered, "Oh, it's so nice to lie down, so comfortable."
"What are you saying, child?" Wenwen's mother (Ren Xueying, the youngest daughter of Minister Ren) patted her.
Wenwen hid behind her grandmother, then turned and hugged her: "Grandma, Wenwen missed you."
She reached out to her older sister and grabbed her clothes, saying, "Big sister, I missed you too."
Before they could react, Wenwen turned to the right and met her younger brother's big, grape-like eyes. She couldn't resist and kissed him on the forehead: "Little brother, I missed you too, hee hee~~".
Her younger brother blushed crimson with embarrassment, turned around quickly, and hugged his mother, protesting in her arms, "Mother, look at my sister, I'm a boy, she..."
Wenwen snuggled closer to her younger brother and hid in her mother's arms, reaching out to touch her mother's back: "What man? You're younger than me, you're just a child. Right, Mom?"
As soon as Wenwen called out "Mother," tears welled up in her eyes, and she choked out, "Mother, I miss you so much... Waaah..."
Wenwen couldn't hold back her tears, which startled her little brother who was sandwiched in the middle. He grabbed Wenwen's hand and started crying too.
Madam Ren hurriedly patted Wenwen's back, comforting her: "Wenwen, Mother's here, everyone's here..."
The younger brother comforted her, saying, "Don't cry, sister. If you want to kiss me, just kiss me. I won't dodge!"
Upon hearing her younger brother's words, Wenwen burst into laughter through her tears.
I didn't expect that my momentary loss of control would upset everyone.
Grandmother came to the rescue: "Wen'er, turn around, Grandmother will hold you, you'll feel better after a nap, everyone should go to sleep early too."
A few scattered sounds of people lying down filled the air. Wenwen turned and approached her grandmother. With her grandmother's soothing pats, her breathing became steady, and she fell asleep.
Wenwen woke up after sleeping for an unknown amount of time. The cell was quiet, with only the sound of everyone breathing. She wondered which of her younger brothers was talking in his sleep, wanting to eat chicken legs.
A thin candle flickered in the corner near the iron gate, casting only a faint glow on the wall. Otherwise, the entire cell was shrouded in darkness, and it was impossible to tell what time it was.
Wenwen looked around and saw that everyone was fast asleep. She remembered that she hadn't opened the new baby gift pack yet: "Xianbao, my dear Tian~Xian~Baby~".
"What? What do you want now?"
"Hmm, nothing much. Could you remind me about any gift packages or rewards I haven't had time to open yet?"
Don't you like opening gift boxes?
"I like it, but I haven't had time right now. Could you remind me later?"
"Ok."
"Then I'll go in and open the presents. Wake me if anyone wakes up."
"I know, long-winded."
The Teletubbies also wanted to know what their owner's new gift was. It was such a huge pile on the dirt slope, taking up half of it. Seriously, it was affecting the great god's living space.
Wenwen silently said: Go in.
Suddenly everything went dark, and I found myself at the bottom of a slope. I looked up and saw...
Wow, this gift is indeed quite large, square and upright, standing at the end of the earthen slope, taking up half of the slope. The outer packaging is dusty and not festive at all.
Wenwen grinned and skipped towards the earthen slope. The further she went, the more puzzled she became; this place looked a bit like a house, and it seemed vaguely familiar.
Upon reaching it, I circled the perimeter and turned the corner. I saw a door, pushed it open, but didn't dare step inside. I craned my neck to peek inside, my mouth opening wider and wider with each peek. When I saw the conspicuous, special carousel seat next to the courtyard, I opened and closed my eyes repeatedly, making sure I was sure before rushing into the courtyard in three strides.
Wenwen, like a tightly wound spring, ran into the house, opening and checking each room on the first floor, then ran up to the second floor to check each room again, and then ran up to the third floor to repeat the process.
She was deeply troubled and hurried down to the first floor. She walked to a hidden door, opened it, went down the stairs, and arrived at an iron gate.
Wenwen took a few deep breaths, "Inhale...exhale...exhale...exhale..."
She slowly pushed open the door, her eyes widening: Ah~~~~ My training room is here too, unbelievable, ah~~~.
Wenwen was happy for a while before she remembered: she and Dila's villa in K country had come here intact, so... where would Dila live? Could someone tell her?
"Thread Treasure~"
"Don't ask me, I don't know." He said fiercely.
Xianbao is currently in the lobby on the first floor, looking around and touching everything, just like a curious little baby.
Wenwen went over and grabbed a bag of potato chips and a can of cola. She sat down on the sofa, turned on the TV, and started changing channels.
She turned to look at Teletubbies, then, with a mischievous grin, switched to the cartoon channel and turned on the animated series "Teletubbies".
"Hehe, Xianbao, come here. Let me introduce you to a good friend."
"What friend?" Xianbao came over and sat down, all excited.
Once seated, Cixi Bao was surprisingly engrossed in reading it.
Just like a child who loves watching TV, he stares at the screen intently and without moving.
Wenwen fiddled with her phone and tablet for a while.
get conclusion.
Inside the house, everything was just like in modern times.
You can watch TV dramas and videos, but you can't connect with the modern world.
Once outside the courtyard, electronic devices can only display pre-stored videos.
This feature is sufficient.
Wenwen munched on potato chips, drank beer, and watched TV series and videos on her tablet, laughing heartily and radiating happiness.
She also reminded Xianbao, "Take what you want to eat."
Xianbao turned her head away in disgust: "I won't eat it."
Suddenly, Xianbao reminded her, "Grandma is about to wake up, hurry up and go out."
Wenwen swallowed the potato chip in her mouth, and it disappeared with a "whoosh".
Xianbao continued to focus on watching TV, ignoring her completely.
