Chapter 248 "From this day forward, I never want to see you again!"
Murong Che's sword-like eyebrows shot up, his eyes filled with boundless hatred. He suddenly drew the sword from his waist, its blade flashing with cold light, accompanied by a whistling sound, like a silver lightning bolt, and stabbed straight towards Xue Xiang.
The sword tip arrived in an instant, stopping just millimeters away from Xue Xiang's slender neck. A chilling coldness instantly spread, causing goosebumps to rise on her skin.
Xue Xiang's eyes widened instantly, overwhelmed by a tidal wave of terror. Her lips trembled uncontrollably, trying to utter a word, but only a broken syllable escaped her lips: "You..."
Murong Che's face was gloomy, and he exuded a chilling aura, like a demon from hell. He gritted his teeth and said, word by word, "You killed Wanwan. A life for a life. I will not let you go!" His voice was filled with endless grief and anger, and every word seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth.
Xue Xiang's face drained of color, her eyes filled with despair and utter despair. In that instant, it seemed as if all hope in the world had left her. Looking at the man before her who had once captivated her, she gave a bitter smile and said, "Since that's how it is, then let's do it!"
After saying that, she slowly closed her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling slightly, biting her lower lip, and her rosy lips instantly lost their color.
Her body trembled slightly, but she no longer struggled or resisted, looking resigned to her fate, as if she had long expected this day to come, and was just waiting for the fatal sword to fall.
Murong Che frowned deeply, his eyes wide open, staring intently at Xue Xiang, his gaze filled with both overwhelming hatred and unspeakable pain and inner turmoil.
He gripped the sword tightly, veins bulging on the back of his hand, knuckles turning white from the force, but the blade remained frozen just inches from Xue Xiang, unable to fall.
His chest heaved violently, his breathing rapid and heavy, each gasp seeming as if he were suppressing the turbulent waves churning within him.
Time seemed to freeze at that moment. Murong Che was torn between his inner turmoil and immense pain.
After a long while, he suddenly swung his sword, but the sharp blade did not pierce Xue Xiang's neck; instead, it swiftly grazed her cheek.
With a hiss, a strand of Xue Xiang's long hair was cleanly severed, drifting down slowly like black silk, tracing a sorrowful arc in the air before gently landing on the cold ground.
Murong Che seemed to have exhausted all his strength. The sword in his hand sank weakly into the ground, and he leaned to one side, barely supporting himself with the sword. At this moment, his clothes were disheveled, his hair was loose, and he looked utterly wretched.
Xue Xiang was startled. She slowly opened her tightly closed eyes, her gaze instinctively falling on the severed hair on the ground. Then, she looked at the utterly disheveled Murong Che, and in that instant, all her despair and collapse surged forth like a flood bursting its banks.
Tears welled up uncontrollably and streamed down her pale cheeks. She could no longer suppress her grief and let out a heart-wrenching sob.
Xue Xiang's eyes reddened, her voice trembled, and she choked back a sob as she said sadly, "In your heart, there's only Xu Wanwan. Your feelings for her are like holding her in the palm of your hand for fear of dropping her, or keeping her in your mouth for fear of melting her. Every smile and frown of hers can affect your joy and sorrow. But what about me?" Her emotions suddenly surged, and she waved her hands violently, her face full of pain and resentment, as she hysterically roared at Murong Che, "She's nothing more than someone you can summon and dismiss at will! I've given so much, and in your eyes, she's not even worth a single hair of hers!"
Xue Xiang's tears flowed like a burst dam, running rampant down her pale cheeks, her heart filled with despair and grief that completely overwhelmed her.
She rushed towards Murong Che without regard for anything else, pounding his chest with her fists like raindrops, each blow filled with endless pain and resentment.
She broke down in tears, her voice sharp and piercing, as if trying to unleash all the grievances and pain she had endured these past days: "Murong Che! You are so heartless! I hate you! I hate you!!!"
Murong Che's body stiffened abruptly, a complex and unreadable expression flashing in his eyes. Then, as if stung by something, he suddenly stood up and forcefully flung Xue Xiang away with both hands.
Xue Xiang stumbled and almost fell to the ground. Murong Che had his back to her, his straight back like a cold mountain peak, keeping everyone at arm's length.
His voice was so cold it seemed to freeze, each word squeezed out from between his teeth: "I won't kill you, but from now on, I never want to see you again."
After saying that, he left without the slightest hesitation, each step firm and powerful, displaying an undeniable domineering aura.
His figure gradually faded into the distance under the twilight sky until it disappeared into the distance.
Xue Xiang stared blankly in the direction he had left, her legs gave way, and she collapsed to the ground. Her cries echoed in the empty space around her, a despair and helplessness that penetrated to the bone, as if the whole world had collapsed, leaving her all alone, sinking into endless pain.
