Chapter 523 The Woman Who Was Kicked Out
Chapter 523 The Woman Who Was Kicked Out
Let it go, maybe she's overthinking because she's sick.
Lin Qingping shook her head and stood up, supporting herself with her second sister's hand.
Just as he turned to walk home, the commotion from Gu Youlian's house suddenly became loud and clear.
"Get out! Don't dirty my floor!" Gu Youlian's furious voice boomed like thunder through the street after the door was opened.
Lin Qingping turned around and saw an unfamiliar woman stumbling in the Gu family's courtyard, as if she had been pushed out. Along with her, several gift boxes were also thrown out.
Then, Gu Youlian slammed the door shut.
"Lin Qingping, come in." Gu Juncheng came out, glanced at his sister's situation, bent down and picked up Lin Qingping. "Let's go inside first."
Lin Qingping craned her neck and saw Gu Youlian's door open again. Liu Fen came out and hurriedly called to the woman picking things up in the yard, "Lanxiang, wait!"
Lin Qingping didn't know what happened next, because Gu Juncheng carried her into the house.
"Who is that woman?" Lin Qingping asked Gu Juncheng.
"I don't know, and I don't recognize her either." Gu Juncheng settled her on the sofa. "My older sister is so angry, I'll go over and see what's going on."
Lin Qingping nodded; she was also concerned about Gu Youlian. "You should go now."
Is this woman named Lanxiang also the one who angered Zhiyuan?
Lin Qingping felt there was some strange connection between them, but she couldn't figure it out. She thought it best to send Gu Juncheng over to take a look.
Zhangzhu brought over a stack of cards. "Mom, Zhangzhu, tell me."
In those days, there were no "tear-resistant" picture books. These cards were all drawn by Lin Qingping for Zhangzhu herself. Every day, she would spend several hours teaching Zhangzhu to recognize objects and speak.
Lin Qingping thought Zhangzhu wanted her to teach her, so she took the card and was about to speak. However, Zhangzhu took the card back and pointed to the picture on the card, saying, "Apple, Mom, say, apple."
Lin Qingping was speechless with emotion. It turned out that this little guy was actually trying to fulfill his promise to his father—to spend time with his mother.
“Okay, Apple.” Lin Qingping smiled and responded to the pearl in her palm.
Zhangzhu gave a thumbs up, "Mom, great job!" Then, in a serious tone, she continued reading the next card and called her second sister in, "Auntie, let's do it together."
"Okay, together." Lin Qingyun liked Zhangzhu very much, so he hugged her into his arms and accompanied Lin Qingping to "read" together.
Lin Qingping originally thought that Gu Juncheng would only be gone for an hour, but to her surprise, he didn't return for an entire morning.
When Gu Youlian came over to cook lunch, she was already acting as if nothing had happened, smiling and talking to Lin Qingping.
Lin Qingping couldn't help but ask, "Big sister, what happened at your house today?"
Her relationship with Gu Youlian was no longer just that of a sister-in-law and brother's wife. She had seen Gu Youlian at her most miserable and helpless, and pulled Gu Youlian out of the mire. They had gone through pain and joy together, and there was no question of "I won't ask if you don't tell me".
Gu Youlian was slightly taken aback by her question, then immediately smiled and said, "It's all because of my muddle-headed mother. She brought some distant relative to our house as a nanny, but she's not good at her job and keeps breaking things. Today she almost set the kitchen on fire, and I lost my temper in a fit of anger."
After saying that, Gu Youlian immediately got up. "I'll go cook some dishes. We'll eat soon!"
"Big sister, is Gu Juncheng at your place? Isn't he coming over for dinner?" Lin Qingping asked. Gu Juncheng had said he was going to her house to see what was going on.
“He probably won’t be coming for dinner! If I chase him away, wouldn’t that offend my mother? Isn’t he trying to persuade my mother? You know how my mother is, she only listens to him. I even asked him to find a way to send my parents back. Right now, he should be taking them to the train station.” Gu Youlian didn’t come out and said from the kitchen.
Lin Qingping frowned: Isn't this a blatant lie? When has Gu Youlian ever been the type to get angry and tell a nanny to get out for the slightest mistake, and even say that she dirtied her house?
But Gu Youlian was unwilling to tell her the truth.
She glanced at Zhiyuan's room; the door was tightly closed. Ever since he came back, he had been inside listening to Gu Juncheng—doing his homework.
She felt a sense of helplessness after falling ill. Perhaps it was because of her illness that everyone acted this way, and began to hide things from her.
Gu Youlian quickly prepared lunch. While her second sister helped serve the dishes, Gu Youlian went upstairs to Zhiyuan's room to call him for lunch.
Zhiyuan skipped down the stairs, as if he wasn't the angry person from that morning.
Lin Qingping waited until Gu Youlian left and her second sister was taking Zhangzhu for a nap before privately asking Zhiyuan what had happened that morning.
"It's nothing serious," Zhiyuan said. "Someone new came to my aunt's house. She was very impatient with Xiaomai. She's a relative of Grandma's, and Grandma always protects her. I didn't know what to say, so I got angry. My aunt said she chased that person away later, right?"
Lin Qingping couldn't tell whether Zhiyuan was lying or not, so she just nodded.
"That's good." Zhiyuan seemed relieved. "Mom, I'm going back to do my homework now."
"Go on, take a nap at noon, don't spend all day doing homework." Lin Qingping said to Zhiyuan, who had grown into a teenager.
"Okay, Mom, you should rest too." Zhiyuan helped her up. "Shall I help you upstairs?"
Lin Qingping shook her head. "I'll just lie here for a bit. Bring me a blanket."
"it is good!"
Lin Qingping sat quietly on the sofa, reviewing the day's events.
She didn't want to sleep. She had already slept too much since she got sick, and she was probably going to sleep for a very, very long time to come. Waking time was precious to her.
Zhiyuan and Gu Youlian's words were straightforward and flawless, yet they were full of suspicious points. She even suspected that the two of them had conspired when Gu Youlian came into the room to call Zhiyuan for dinner.
Just when she couldn't figure it out, Gu Juncheng returned.
Five or six hours have passed since he went to Gu Youlian's house.
When Gu Juncheng entered, he surprisingly looked somewhat tired.
He's someone who can maintain his energy even during continuous training exercises.
"You've been at your older sister's house for so long?" Lin Qingping asked him.
"Hmm." He squatted down in front of her. "Everyone's taking a nap, why don't you go and rest for a bit?"
"I'll wait for you," she said directly. "What's going on with your older sister?"
“You’re such a worrywart. You’re not even feeling well yourself, yet you’re still worrying about your older sister.” Gu Juncheng pulled the blanket up for her. “It’s nothing serious. It’s all because of my mother. She said we’re all busy right now, and my older sister has to take care of the shop and Xiaomai. She can’t manage it all, so she hired a relative from our hometown to be a nanny. That’s what angered my older sister.”
Ha... all three of them are saying the same thing.
