The cocoon had shattered completely, leaving behind only faint trails of golden and void-black light that slowly faded into the emptiness.
For a long moment, neither of them spoke.
The weight of the Author’s words still lingered in the air like smoke from a dying fire — casual, almost friendly, yet carrying implications that shook the very foundation of how they viewed their existence.
Ash’s reddish-purple eyes were distant, his expression calm but deeply thoughtful as he processed everything.
Elysia clung to his arm, her golden eyes soft as she leaned her head against his shoulder.
"Interesting, isn’t it?" she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
"He never planned to control anything. He set you up... to become the strongest fictional character in existence."
Ash let out a low, genuine laugh, the sound rich and warm as it echoed softly through the void.
"Truly," he replied, shaking his head slightly.
"If the Author wasn’t trying to control or manipulate me... then why did I ever feel the need to change the way I’ve operated my entire life?"
He paused, a faint, dangerous smile playing on his lips.
"But that’s the beauty of it." If the Author hadn’t planned to manipulate him, he would never have changed his ways.
Back on Elaris, and even before that, he had moved freely, doing whatever he pleased. Lately, he’d tried being more meticulous, all in an effort to break away from the Author’s influence.
Now, it seemed he’d already done so—though not completely. Still, the trajectory of his novel had been shifting constantly, shaped by his sheer brilliance.
"Haha, well, back to the regular program," he said with a laugh.

Before they continued, Ash closed his eyes for a moment, reaching out with his connection to Pantheos.
And as time within the verse had flowed differently — a full 100 Eras had passed during his evolution.

Emma had returned to Pantheos 200,000 years after his evolution had begun.
And, in just a million years, she had achieved her goal.
Velora had grown into a genuine empire, and the Original Haven had transformed into a place accessible to the farthest reaches of Pantheos.
Yet, there was more to it—the Veloran Empire wasn’t the ominous force many imagined when they thought of Emma.
The true power, the one both celebrated and feared across all of Pantheos, was the Meta Court Pantheon, where Emma reigned supreme as Empress.
It was the place she created, dedicated to world-building and expanding the Pantheos itself. It was also where she awaited her nine most trusted subordinates—the other boundless stars.
Other than that, his wives had kept their promise, swapping themes each Era — peaceful eras led by Sonna, fateful eras guided by Celeste, lucky eras influenced by Sylvie.
However, they had not yet unleashed a truly chaotic one, remembering his words to wait.
This was because, the most chaotic era... the one led by Khaos, it would commence the birth of Nullen and the start of his tale.
Ash nodded to himself, pleased with Emma’s progress.
A small, satisfied smile touched his lips as he sensed that many of his wives had already been playing in the Prime Expanse for the past century.
Elysia, still clinging to his arm, looked up at him with quiet curiosity.
"Check your status," she whispered. "See everything you’ve gained."

"I’d love to," she replied softly. "Let’s see what they’ve been saying about us."
