Chapter 363: Installation
Chapter 363: Installation
[The customization is completed... Inspection completed, the design is deemed to be acceptable. Calculating the final price... Price: 3,065 SP.]
Looking at the final price, Michael was a little dumbfounded. This price, while it was extremely high in normal times, but considering what he had just customized, it seemed to be a little underwhelming?
If Michael did not understand the system well, he might have thought that the system would use low quality material when it came to the creation of what he had just designed.
But from the explanation that he had previously received from the system, it was clear that the system prices were not easily influenced.
Unlike in real life, where, the prices of items could be either of a price or underpriced, simply because of factors such as demand and supply, the costs incurred during research and so much more, the items from the system were different.
They were just priced according to the costs that were incurred during the production. That implied that it would just be the cost of the raw materials, which are also not influenced by the external factors, and other production expenses incurred.
This 3,065 SP, was equal to $306,500,000 if it was converted into cash, which was obviously something that only a few people would afford, or willing to spend on something just for training.
And thinking about it, the ability itself, it was not this expensive. When Michael bought the adaptation ability for Kate, it only cost him a total of 78 SP.
Even the advanced telekinesis ability that he had was only priced at 85 SP. Simply put, with over 3,000 SP, Michael could obtain roughly over 100 different abilities.
But Michael did not regret this at all. In any case, it was not as if this training chamber could only be used by one person. Maybe the other combat abilities could also be used here, to simulate training.
That way, it would allow those with different abilities to be able to enhance their capability of using those abilities.
Moreover, Michael was also planning on getting the rapid adaptation ability. At that time, he would also be like Kate, and he would need to use this facility in order to push his physical capabilities to the maximum.
One more thing, the system did not provide him with his current physical attributes in terms of numbers. He was not really sure how strong he was physically, after he had taken the evolution serum.
He just knew that he was stronger than the strongest man in the world, but by what margin, he was not sure. The same applied to his speed and agility. It seemed that he would have to use this training chamber in order to be able to fully test his limits.
Michael then focused on the cost, and the system provided him with a breakdown of the costs incurred.
[The installation assimilation core would cost 450 SP. The gravity system would cost 320 SP. The magnetic strength platforms would cost 180 SP. The adaptive combat AI would cost 260 SP.
The combat drone and projection systems would cost 140 SP. The climate control system would cost 210 SP. The pressure system would cost 170 SP.
The neural reaction system would cost 230 SP. The impact training system would cost 95 SP. The adaptive terrain system would cost 160 SP. The recovery systems would cost 130 SP.
The nutrient injector system would cost 40 SP. The central AI core would cost 300 SP. The power system would cost 380 SP.]
Looking at the breakdown, Michael felt that this price, it was much more reasonable. After all, each section of the equipment used advanced technology that was way beyond what could be currently found in this world.
Michael was just about to make the purchase when suddenly, he received another prompt from the system.
[Since this is something that has been customized by the host, the host has the right to give it a name. If the host does not give the name, a name would be randomly generated.]
Even though a little surprised, Michael did not think much about it. For this, during the time that he was customizing it, he was already having a name in his mind. Therefore, he quickly gave the name.
[Name confirmed. Adaptive Evolution Chamber. Price: 3065 SP.]
After confirming that everything was as he had customized, Michael immediately completed the purchase, spending the 3065 SP.
The moment that he completed the purchase, on the coffee table, there was a flash of light before an item appeared as the light dimmed.
Michael immediately picked the item that had appeared, observing it closely. It was a sealed black cylinder, about the size of an orange, with a smooth metallic surface and faint glowing lines that shifted slowly across its body. It felt cold and heavy, as if the material inside was denser than normal metal.
At its center, a recessed activation panel was placed under a thin transparent cover, marked only by a small light indicator. The button lay flush with the surface, hidden until directly touched.
Along the side of the core, a narrow manual retract port was built in, allowing the system to be safely shut down or withdrawn back into a dormant state if needed.
No external screens or controls were visible. The core looked simple at first glance, but for Michael, who had just completed designing it, he understood better.
After observing it for quite a while, Michael immediately left. When he was customizing this chamber, he had the intention of installing it in the newly bought villa number 4.
So, he immediately headed out of the villa, then, got out of the courtyard of the villa, and headed towards the neighboring villa.
Villa number 4 was located to the right of Villa number 5. The distance between them was not that big, so, within just a little over a minute, Michael got to the villa.
With the access card in his hand, he easily managed to enter into the villa. Before anything else, he began observing the villa, to see what made it special as compared to villa number 5.
But as he looked around, he realized that there was not much distinction. There were a few more advanced trinkets here and there, but that was all there was.
And to think, just those few items, which cost just around $100,000, would lead to the price of this villa being increased by $700,000, as compared to villa number 5, it was kind of ridiculous.
But thinking about it, maybe the owner of Villa number 6 thought the same when looking at villa number five. Good thing though, Michael never spent a penny to acquire the villa, as it was a gift that he had received from Charles Morgan, Kate’s grandfather.
But of course, Michael understood that there was a reason why those that wanted to buy a villa within this residential community wanted these few villas.
It was all just for the prestige that they would gain for buying such an expensive house. As for the other residents, most probably, it was because they could not afford the villas here, or they just felt that it was not worth it.
Regardless, Michael quickly looked around the villa, realizing that the villa’s interior was not that much different from the one that he was gifted, in terms of design.
Just a little bit of quality in terms of their innovation of this villa, but that was all there was to it. The other facilities within the villa were just the same as those possessed by villa number 5.
Losing interest in looking around, Michael immediately decided that it was time for him to activate the chamber. And yet, he received another prompt from the system.
[Before activating the core of the chamber, the host is required to vacate the building in which the chamber is going to be installed. If the core is activated with any living being inside it, they would lose their lives.]
Michael could not help but raise his brows slightly at that. Initially, he had wanted to watch as the transformation occurred. But now, that seemed to be impossible.
As for why the system claimed that if someone stayed inside the villa during their transformation, they would die, he did not need to think much about it to understand.
Considering the fact that during the transformation, everything within the villa would be broken down, then, if a person was inside, they would obviously be broken down as well.
Shaking his head slightly, Michael quickly left the villa, and immediately after, he activated the core in his hand.
Thereafter, he threw the core into the villa, through the door that he had just left open. Then, he closed the door.
What he had done, it was something that he subconsciously understood. Most probably, the system had embedded this information in his mind.
According to the system, the transformation would take at most a minute. So, Michael only had to wait for a minute, before confirming the results.
And as he stood outside the villa, he was suddenly dumbfounded when he looked to us one of the front windows of the villa.
Through the window, although he could not see inside the villa, there was a bright light that was coming from inside the villa. Something strange about this light was the fact that while he could see that there was light inside the villa, it was not leaking out at all.
It was kind of difficult to explain this, but standing in front of that window, on the other side, there was a bright light, but on this other side, everything was normal, as if the window pen in between acted as a dividing line, blocking the light from penetrating it.
Michael waited, and a few moments later, as the light that he could see through the window began dissipating, he prepared to enter the villa, to see the transformation that had occurred.
