Chapter 289: Informing of the Marriage
Chapter 289: Informing of the Marriage
A soft hand climbed onto his shoulder, and then, a warm and soft body leaned over. "Ah Heng, Ah Heng, Ah Heng..." She just called his name, tears quickly falling. "How could I leave you? How could I bear to do that? But... I can't help it. I do everything for you."
Su Heng narrowed his eyes and grabbed her wrists with both hands, "Ding Xin, please explain yourself clearly!"
Ding Xin raised her tearful eyes, looked at him infatuatedly, and said, "Remember, when you first entered this industry, even your father didn't support you. Later, you had to sign a military order in public."
Su Heng's heart tightened, "You mean."
She shed tears and smiled bitterly, "Yes, it's the contract with Yinnian."
Su Heng returned earlier than expected. Jiang Man hurried to the kitchen to heat up the food, but he grabbed her wrist and pulled her to the living room to sit down.
"Xuanxuan has fallen asleep?"
She nodded with a smile: "Although she kept shouting that she wanted to wait for Dad, she couldn't stand it for more than a few minutes."
He lowered his eyes slightly, and after a moment of silence, he suddenly spoke: "The wedding will be next month, at the beginning of the month, on the 6th."
"So hasty?" Jiang Man knew Su Heng's character very well. Once he made a decision, he would carry it out. However, he did not expect it to happen so quickly.
She joked, "Hey, Mr. Su, how come I didn't know about such a big thing as my marriage?"
Su Heng lowered his eyes, a faint wrinkle visible between his brows. "I didn't plan to do it so soon, but on second thought, the only way to feel at ease is to marry you as soon as possible."
He went on to say, "Let's go visit your parents tomorrow morning."
She asked in surprise, "Why?"
"They should be the first to know about our marriage."
Jiang Man nodded in agreement, "Indeed."
Su Heng glanced at her sideways and gently pinched her cheek. "Go take a shower and rest. You'll be busy tomorrow."
"Have you had dinner yet? I'll go heat it up."
"I've already had dinner outside." Su Heng raised the corner of his mouth. "I'll go take a shower first and wait for you in the bedroom later."
That night, he was extremely passionate, as if he had endless energy for her.
Early in the morning, after sending Xuanxuan to kindergarten, the two drove to the Su family's courtyard.
Around noon, Jiang's father was leisurely playing chess in the courtyard. Seeing Jiang Man return, he was quite surprised, "Manman, why did you come back so suddenly?"
Jiang Man looked back and saw Su Heng following closely behind him. The latter walked up to Jiang's father and said respectfully, "Uncle, Jiang Man and I are married." Hearing this, Jiang's father paused slightly in his hand holding the chess piece, and the smile on his face gradually faded.
"Have you decided?" Jiang Man nodded in response, "Next month on the 6th."
Father Jiang showed a happy expression, patted the back of her hand, and turned his gaze to Su Heng, his eyes flashing with a complex light, "I hand her over to you, I hope you treat her well."
Su Heng nodded solemnly, his jaw slightly tense, "I will."
"And you." Father Jiang turned to Jiang Man and warned him again, "You need to control your temper. Now that you're married, you shouldn't be too stubborn. Harmony between husband and wife is the most important thing. Do you understand?"
"I know!" Jiang Man responded while muttering softly, "You always love to expose my shortcomings. Who is my biological child?"
Mother Jiang was overjoyed to see the two return, and she hurried out to buy ingredients to prepare meals.
Jiang Man sat side by side with Jiang's father, discussing wedding matters. In fact, she knew very little, as these had always been handled by Su Heng.
Su Heng stood outside the yard, puffing out a cigarette, not knowing where his thoughts were drifting, with cigarette butts scattered around his feet.
Soon, the aroma of food wafted out of the kitchen. Jiang's mother came out and said, "Stop chatting and eat first. We'll talk after dinner."
"Okay." Su Heng wanted to go forward to help, but was stopped by Jiang's father. "Just sit here and drink tea, and we can continue chatting."
Su Heng didn't want to spoil his fun, so he nodded in agreement.
The lunch was exceptionally sumptuous, and Jiang Man devoured it without restraint. Su's parents felt a little embarrassed watching their daughter eat without any dignity.
Jiang's mother kept picking up food for Su Heng, fearing that he would not be full. Su Heng thanked her repeatedly and chewed the food slowly.
In comparison, Jiang's father couldn't help but have a headache. What on earth did this young man like about Jiang Man?
"Manman, why is your face red?" Jiang's mother noticed the blush on Jiang Man's cheek and became puzzled.
Jiang Man put down his chopsticks and was about to say that Su Heng pinched him on the way, but unexpectedly Su Heng said calmly: "It bumped into the door."
Jiang Man turned his head stiffly and glared at him, but the latter tasted the dish that Jiang Mu picked up as if nothing had happened.
Jiang's mother acted as if she was used to it. Jiang's father took a sip of wine and said, "Manman has been impulsive since he was little, stubborn and unwilling to listen to advice."
Jiang Man closed his eyes, feeling helpless and shy. "Dad, let me remind you again, I am your biological child!"
Father Jiang smiled and said, "Now there is someone to take care of her for me. As a father, I am relieved."
"He takes care of me? It's good enough that he doesn't bully me." Jiang Man muttered softly.
"What are you mumbling about?" Father Jiang glared at Jiang Man and said, "Be quiet while you eat. Look at Ah Heng and you'll know how bad you are!"
Jiang Man felt extremely aggrieved. He turned his head to look at the "positive role model" next to him and stepped on his shoes out of anger.
Su Heng's brows twitched slightly. "Manman has a very good temper and rarely gets angry."
"You don't have to say good things about her. Don't we know what she is like?" Father Jiang shook his head and sighed, feeling very disappointed in her.
Jiang Man stuck out his tongue in dissatisfaction.
Jiang's father happened to catch her red-handed. "Look at her, look at her, she's still not convinced."
Su Heng raised the corner of his mouth, "I just like Manman like this."
Jiang Man rolled his eyes, full of dissatisfaction. He only knew how to pretend to be a good person in front of his parents!
"Don't let her get away with it. This girl won't learn anything without a beating!"
Father Jiang laughed and Mother Jiang chuckled.
Hearing this, Jiang Man's eyes widened, "Dad! You're an intellectual, and you're actually encouraging domestic violence?!"
"This is a Chinese-style education method. It's okay to use it occasionally."
Su Heng smiled and patted the back of Jiang Man's hand, "I always put what I learn into practice."
Jiang Man glared at him, retracted his hand, and raised his chin, "How dare you!"
"Well, I don't dare."
Father Jiang felt relieved when he saw the loving couple.
After the two of them finished their meal, Su's parents found an excuse to visit relatives, leaving them some space to be alone.
After eating and drinking her fill, Jiang Man lay lazily on the sofa, not wanting to move at all. Only in the embrace of home could she relax so completely.
Su Heng looked at her, walked over and gently pinched the soft flesh on her waist: "It's good to gain some weight, I like it very much."
As soon as these words came out, Jiang Man immediately sat up straight, "You said I gained weight?"
Su Heng raised his eyebrows and asked, "Don't you know it yourself?"
Jiang Man glared at him and said, "Being fat is a blessing. Besides, I didn't eat much rice from your house."
