Chapter 278: Cold Academic God x Bright and Intelligent Fake Gold 9

"Do you understand?"

Gu Wusui spoke again, his voice cold. Behind his elegant glasses, his gaze was as cold as a pool of frozen water, devoid of any warmth.

"Teacher Gu, this blackboard of yours is really good. It's really a blackboard. Now I will listen to you."

Yun Qian smiled awkwardly and nodded in mock earnestness, her tone hinting at a certain nonchalance, as if she genuinely didn't understand and was babbling nonsense. Her words, however, didn't cause much commotion. Most of the students in the room were buried in the exercises Gu Wusui had just assigned. Only a few looked up at her, then lowered their heads again.

So, in the second half of the class, Yun Qian behaved surprisingly well. She sat upright, occasionally pretending to take notes, as if she had "reformed" and was determined to become a good student who loved to study.

It was not until Gu Wusui said "get out of class dismissed" that the students gathered around him and asked him for help with exercises they did not know how to do. Yun Qian finally breathed a sigh of relief. However, she did not leave in a hurry. Instead, she took out her cell phone from under the desk and pretended to check messages, but in fact she was quietly paying attention to Gu Wusui's movements - she had to wait for Gu Wusui.

Gu Wusui accepted each of the workbooks and test papers handed to him by the students, glancing down at them, his expression as calm as ever. Those complex questions seemed much simpler in his hands. He was incredibly clever, able to discern the underlying structure of a question with a single glance. Even the most difficult questions required only a moment's thought to arrive at the answer.

Yun Qian watched him answer the questions with ease, secretly admiring his ability. She sat there with her chin propped up, idly scrolling through her phone, but from time to time she would glance up at him.

By the time Gu Wusui finished answering all the questions, more than half an hour had passed. The people in the classroom gradually dispersed, and in the end, only Gu Wusui and Yun Qian were left.

Gu Wusui was tidying up the documents on the table and had no intention of paying attention to her, but Yun Qian didn't care at all. She stared straight at his handsome profile, not hiding her scrutiny.

"Any questions, Kumo-san?"

Gu Wusui finally raised his head, his voice flat, and glanced at her, with no emotion in his tone.

"Of course there is, Teacher Gu."

Yun Qian put down her phone, slowly stood up, and walked towards him. She walked slowly until she was standing next to Gu Wusui, then she stopped and looked up at him with a sly smile in her eyes.

"Teacher Gu, you asked me to come, so I came. I thought it would just be the two of us, but there are so many students here." Yun Qian spoke softly, with a hint of accusation in her voice. "Teacher Gu, I usually don't even want to attend math class. How can I possibly listen to your lecture with so many people?"

Although the girl's words were coquettish, they also revealed a little bit of "complaint", as if everyone knew what she was thinking.

Gu Wusui raised his eyebrows slightly when he heard this, but he didn't show any emotion. He said calmly, "I didn't say I would only teach you."

"Gu Wusui!" Yun Qian's eyes widened slightly in an exaggerated manner upon hearing this, his tone laced with a hint of feigned dissatisfaction. He then raised his hand proudly and made a "five" gesture: "If you give me two hours of extra lessons every day, I'll give you this amount. How about that?"

Gu Wusui glanced at the gestures she made, frowning slightly before saying calmly, "I've been a bit busy lately, so I'm afraid I won't have time."

His tone was indifferent, but with an unquestionable certainty, as if he had already ended the conversation in advance.

Yun Qian blinked, still smiling, as if she didn't understand his refusal, or as if she didn't care at all. She tilted her head and said lightly, "It's okay, Teacher Gu. We can discuss this matter again. Why be so absolute?"

Gu Wusui didn't respond, but lowered his head and continued to pack his things, "Here are the things I told you to bring, take them out."

Good God, if she hadn't known that he was going to give her a lecture, she would have thought he was dealing with a corpse. Fortunately, Yun Qian was well prepared and showed him a set of test papers that she had done last night.

Gu Wusui took it over.

Gu Wusui took it and glanced down at the paper. The neat handwriting on the paper showed Yun Qian's seriousness, but a closer look revealed that some of the solutions to the questions were truly bizarre, even "ingenious."

He frowned slightly, tapped his fingers on the test paper, and asked in a calm tone: "This question...how did you come up with this solution?"

Seeing this, Yun Qian simply pulled up a chair and sat next to him, a nonchalant smile on his face: "Inspiration, Teacher Gu. Or maybe you say I'm a gifted person?"

After hearing this, Gu Wusui just glanced at her indifferently, then put the test paper on the table, took out a pen and circled a few places.

"Talent doesn't hold water in the face of logical errors," he said bluntly, his pen swiping a clear red circle across the test paper. "Your thinking has strayed from these questions, and your solutions are incorrect."

Yun Qian curled her lips, but her tone remained cheerful: "It's rare for me to do my homework, so I did it for Teacher Gu first. It's fine after she corrects it."

Gu Wusui glanced up at her, his eyes assessing her attitude. He didn't say anything more, but lowered his head again and wrote the solution bit by bit on the test paper, explaining calmly as he wrote, "Look carefully at the conditions and logical relationships of this question... You can't just rely on intuition for questions like this."

Yun Qian propped her chin up, watching him half-seriously, half-amusedly as he wrote out his solution. His slender fingers gripped the pen, his movements smooth and steady. The light and shadow on the table accentuated his stern expression.

"Teacher Gu, you explain so seriously, it seems that you still care about me as a student." Yun Qian said half-jokingly. The sunlight outside the window shone on her face, as flawless as white jade. Gu Wusui looked up at her, and the scene of the girl chattering happened to fall into his eyes. Gu Wusui's throat moved slightly, and then he immediately lowered his head to look at the test paper.

He said calmly: "What I care about is whether you can learn it."

Yun Qian was stunned for a moment, then smiled and continued in a light tone: "Then I have to work harder and not let Teacher Gu down."

The atmosphere between the two of them seemed calm, yet it held a subtle undertone. Gu Wusui put down his pen only after he had finished explaining the last question. His gaze fell on Yun Qian, "Do you understand?"
