Chapter 468 Storm Grass
Chapter 468 Storm Grass
"Well, the check-in area is still ahead, but you'll need to walk there," Su Siyi nodded slightly, her gaze fixed on the distance, her expression steady. The check-in tasks issued by the system are now increasingly detailed, clearly indicating which areas can be flown and which must be reached on foot. In Su Siyi's view, walking isn't necessarily a bad thing, as past experience has taught her that walking often offers unexpected surprises. Perhaps along the way, she'll encounter some unique plants, which could potentially bring her a mysterious gift package, kicking off a wonderful adventure.
"That's great! Perhaps this nameless island holds some treasure!" Qin Zhixuan jumped up excitedly, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. She began to imagine all sorts of treasures. She couldn't help but giggle as she imagined discovering a long-lost martial arts manual or a rare treasure on the island.
"Maybe there really is one. Let's look forward to it!" Su Siyi's lips curled up, revealing a warm smile. She was also full of curiosity about this mysterious nameless island, wondering what was waiting for them ahead.
"Honey, let's go!" Nangong Jingming affectionately put his arm around Su Siyi's slender waist, a happy smile on his face. He leaned slightly to the side, looking down at Su Siyi with a doting look in his eyes, and then took the lead in the direction of the check-in location. His steps were steady and powerful, as if to declare to everyone that no matter what challenges lay ahead, he would firmly accompany Su Siyi and protect her from wind and rain.
"Wife, let's go!" Seeing this, Mu Chenyang also stepped forward quickly and tried to hold Qin Zhixuan's hand. However, Qin Zhixuan dodged his hand lightly like a nimble little rabbit.
"Hmph, you big pig's hoof! You don't keep your word, and I'm still mad at you!" Qin Zhixuan pouted, her face filled with displeasure. She remembered a time when Mu Chenyang had agreed to accompany her, but had broken his promise due to an emergency. This incident had been weighing on her mind. She turned away in a huff and ran forward, quickly reaching the other side of Su Siyi and putting some distance between them.
"Big Brother, Second Brother, are we really here for the right reasons?" Su Wenyu looked at the two intimate couples in front of him, then at himself and his brothers, all alone, and a sense of loss welled up in his heart. He felt like a third wheel, out of place in this sweet atmosphere, and couldn't help but complain quietly to his two brothers.
"You could find one too," Su Wenying said, shaking his head helplessly, looking at his brother's dejected expression. He knew that his brother had been so focused on his own affairs that he seemed slow to react to matters of the heart. With that, he ignored them and quickened his pace to catch up. He didn't want to miss any of the excitement of exploring this mysterious island.
"Yeah, isn't there a girl with you who looks pretty good and you share the same hobbies? Why aren't you attracted to her?" Su Wenxin asked with a smile, placing a hand on Su Wenyu's shoulder. He knew full well that Su Wenyu had always been accompanied by a girl named Zhao Lu, specially arranged for him by his younger sister, Su Siyi. Zhao Lu was cheerful and lovely, and like Su Wenyu, she shared a keen interest in high-tech. In Su Wenxin's opinion, they were a perfect match.
When Su Wenyu heard his second brother's words, Zhao Lu's image surfaced in his mind. Her bright eyes, the adorable dimples that appeared when she smiled, and the twinkle in her eyes when she discussed high technology all came to mind. Zhao Lu was indeed very cute, and when they discussed high technology together, they always had such a tacit understanding, as if they had endless things to talk about. At this thought, Su Wenyu's heart moved slightly. Could it be that he really had different feelings for Zhao Lu?
"Second brother, don't joke around." Although Su Wenyu said this, his cheeks flushed slightly and his eyes revealed a hint of panic. He couldn't believe that he actually had feelings for Zhao Lu.
"Okay, I'm not kidding. I heard that person has a lot of suitors. If you want to pursue her, you might not have the chance." Su Wenxin continued to tease his brother with a smile, but a sly glint in his eyes. He said this deliberately to provoke Su Wenyu and make him face his feelings.
Does she have any suitors around her? Su Wenyu recalled carefully, and it seemed that there were indeed a few men who often liked to hang around Zhao Lu. Every time he saw those men talking to Zhao Lu, he would feel inexplicably irritated, but he never realized that it was actually a manifestation of jealousy. No, he finally met a woman who made him so interested, and he couldn't let someone else snatch her away. Su Wenyu secretly clenched his fists, and he already had an idea in his mind. It seems that when he returns, he has to plan carefully how to confess to Zhao Lu and make her his girlfriend.
Zhao Lu, now being pursued, was completely immersed in her own research, oblivious to what was unfolding far away. Her lab was filled with high-tech equipment and a variety of strange parts. Under the light, she fiddled intently with her instruments, her brow furrowed, then relaxed, as if the only people in the world were her and these mysterious objects.
"Ding! Stormweed found! Reward: a mysterious gift pack." Just as Su Siyi and her group continued on their journey through the nameless island, the familiar system notification chime suddenly rang out in her mind. Almost instantly, the system had already sent the reward to her system space. Su Siyi paused for a moment, then excitedly looked around, quickly spotting the several Stormweeds hidden in the bushes. Their leaves were slender, shimmering with a faint blue light. They swayed gently in the breeze, exuding a unique aroma.
"Stormgrass, husband, we have Stormgrass here. It's a magical herb that can automatically create wind, and it has quite a bit of attack power." Su Siyi turned around quickly, her eyes gleaming with surprise, and she couldn't wait to tell her husband, Nangong Jingming, about her discovery. As she spoke, she quickly checked the detailed introduction to Stormgrass provided by the system, and the more she read, the more excited she became.
"There are plants like this! It seems we know so little." Nangong Jingming frowned slightly, his eyes filled with wonder. He stepped forward, carefully examining these seemingly ordinary yet profoundly mysterious spiritual herbs, feeling a surge of emotion. In this vast world, what they knew was only the tip of the iceberg; countless unknowns awaited their exploration.
"There are so many things in the world we don't know. Let's explore the future together." Su Siyi reached out and gently took Nangong Jingming's hand, her face filled with a happy and determined smile. She knew that the sign-in system had transformed their lives, and that the world was filled with infinite possibilities because of it. At this moment, she was full of anticipation for the adventures ahead.
"Well, let's explore together from now on." Nangong Jingming shook Su Siyi's hand firmly, his eyes revealing a firm determination. He looked at his beloved and secretly vowed in his heart that no matter what was waiting for them ahead, he would stay by her side and uncover the unknown mysteries together.
"How do I pick this storm grass?" Qin Zhixuan came over curiously, her eyes wide open as she stared at the storm grass, her heart filled with confusion. She had never seen such a strange plant before, so naturally, she had no idea how to pick it.
"This storm grass needs to be encased in spiritual energy to be dug out. Everyone, give it a try later." Su Siyi turned around and spoke seriously to everyone. Her eyes swept over everyone, ensuring they heard her words clearly. She knew that picking storm grass was both a challenge and a good opportunity to improve their ability to use spiritual energy.
"What would happen if we touched them directly?" Qin Zhixuan's curiosity was piqued. She tilted her head and continued to ask. She couldn't imagine what the consequences would be of directly touching the storm grass. This unknown made her nervous and excited.
"Perhaps you could try it and see if it works." Su Siyi's lips curled up slightly, revealing a mysterious smile. She deliberately didn't answer Qin Zhixuan's question directly, wanting her to experience it herself so that she could gain a deeper understanding of Storm Grass.
"Okay, I'll give it a try," Qin Zhixuan said without hesitation, her eyes gleaming with eagerness. In her view, adventure meant daring to try; only then could one discover more surprises. However, just as she was about to reach out and touch the storm grass, Mu Chenyang grabbed her.
"Let me do it. You just stand back and watch." Mu Chenyang looked at Qin Zhixuan with concern, his eyes filled with worry. He knew Qin Zhixuan's reckless personality and was worried that she would be hurt if she touched the storm grass directly. So, he decided to try it himself first, to scout the way for Qin Zhixuan.
Mu Chenyang took a deep breath, slowly stepped forward, and cautiously extended his hand. As soon as his fingers touched the blades of the storm grass, the seemingly calm grass suddenly erupted. A small tornado suddenly erupted from its body, a deep blue, swirling towards Mu Chenyang. Although the wind seemed small, it was extremely strong, at least force seven, enough to blow an adult far away.
Mu Chenyang reacted extremely quickly, employing his agility to swiftly dodge the tornado's attack. Even so, he still felt the destructive power of the storm grass. The strong wind brushed past him, creating a whirring sound that made his clothes rustle.
"The wind from this storm grass is so strong." Mu Chenyang said with lingering fear. He turned his head and looked at everyone, his eyes full of surprise. He was lucky that he had reacted in time, otherwise he would have been blown away by the wind.
"This grass is a great weapon!" Su Siyi clapped her hands excitedly, her eyes sparkling with excitement. As she looked at the storm grass, she began to imagine using it in battle. In her opinion, these storm grasses were undoubtedly very powerful weapons. If used properly, they would greatly enhance their combat effectiveness.
"So everyone, please pick them carefully. They will be our weapons in the future." Nangong Jingming nodded and said seriously. He knew the value of these storm grasses and that picking them would require a certain amount of effort, but he believed that as long as everyone worked together, they would be able to successfully collect them.
"Well, we get it. This is a valuable treasure, so we'll definitely collect it." Everyone nodded in agreement. Looking at the vast expanse of storm grass, their hearts were filled with fighting spirit. This storm grass was not only a precious resource, but also the reward of their exploration of this mysterious world. Soon, several people began their collection.
Picking stormweed was no easy task; it required wrapping it with spiritual energy and then carefully digging it out. This was a tremendous test of their spiritual power control, requiring them to precisely control the output and strength of the wrapping. However, over the years, everyone had realized they were still not proficient in spells, and this stormweed-picking mission provided them with an opportunity to practice.
They threw themselves completely into the gathering, each carefully channeling their spiritual energy, attempting to perfectly envelop the Stormweed. Initially, their movements were a bit awkward, and their spiritual energy control wasn't precise enough, causing several Stormweed plants to nearly attack prematurely due to improper spiritual energy envelopment. But through constant trial and error, they gradually mastered the technique, and their picking speed grew faster and faster.
It took them half a day to finally gather all the stormweed. By then, the sky had gradually darkened. The afterglow of the setting sun shone on them, casting a golden glow on their exhausted figures.
"There's still plenty of time. Don't rush. We won't set off tonight!" Nangong Jingming said with concern, looking at the tired faces of the crowd. He knew that everyone was exhausted from digging storm grass today and needed a good night's rest to recharge their batteries and continue exploring this mysterious nameless island tomorrow.
Everyone nodded in agreement, and they found a relatively safe place to set up camp and spend the night.
"The night sky here is so beautiful!" After dinner, everyone gathered around a roaring fire, gazing up at the vast expanse of the night sky. The night was as dark as ink, dotted with stars, each one twinkling brilliantly like a gem inlaid in the black sky, adorning the entire sky with a dreamlike quality.
"Sister Siyi, could it be that the stars here are actually planets?" Qin Zhixuan stared at the sky without blinking. Suddenly, she recalled the starry sky she had seen in the interstellar world. Those stars were indeed real planets. At this moment, she couldn't help but wonder if the stars they saw before her eyes also held the same mysteries.
"That's possible, but there are many planets in outer space, and they might also be lit up, so they're not necessarily all from the same planet," Su Siyi explained earnestly, narrowing her eyes slightly. Her gaze slowly moved across the night sky, trying to distinguish different celestial bodies from the twinkling stars. She knew that the mysteries of the universe were endless, and it was difficult to accurately determine the nature of each star with just the naked eye.
