Chapter 1240 Dual Narrative Script

Chapter 1240 Dual Narrative Script

At the dining table, Lin Yu finished reading the script presented by Fluoxetine.

He already knew what Fluoxetine was up to – using the familiar identities of “director” and “psychiatrist” as metaphors, without triggering his subconscious defense mechanism against anyone trying to pry into his secrets, and through “script discussion”, he was trying to gain information about his relationship with Schreiber.

After all, the stories created by creators cannot be completely detached from reality and cannot be unaffected by the creators' own experiences.

As Professor Lin Yu of Drama Theory put it, "There's no documentary work in the world that's completely devoid of fictional elements, and there's no fictional work that's completely divorced from reality. Even the most realistic work is bound to be influenced by the creator's subjective emotions; and even the most fantastical work is bound to have its roots in reality."

However, what Lin Yu did not expect was...

Fluoxetine's writing standard is quite high.

Among the playwrights he had met, Fluoxetine's scriptwriting level was not even inferior to Shen Bingmiao.

This script has a very solid writing foundation and almost no amateur mistakes.

The duration of each scene is very reasonable, the lines are clear and take stage expression into consideration, and the transition and ending are also extremely beautiful.

and……

While ensuring that the story of the script itself is quite interesting, Fluoxetine does not seem to have forgotten its own purpose.

The script is told along two lines, depicting the daily lives of two characters, one named "Director" and the other named "Doctor" - Lin Yu could clearly feel that although the two characters were not very obvious, they were indeed based on his two identities.

An independent filmmaker who is paranoid to the point of perfectionism, and a somewhat mysterious and neurotic psychiatrist who studied under a famous teacher.

In the script, the two also encountered some synchronous crises connecting them - for example, the doctor rear-ended a celebrity's car and was scolded by the other party's agent, resulting in a delay. However, that scene was filmed and continued to ferment on the Internet media, causing a public opinion crisis for the director's crew.

A photographer in the director's crew committed suicide by taking pills due to stress, and that photographer happened to be a patient in the doctor's clinic.

Events like this continue to happen, as if the two are entangled by fate.

But both parties are unaware of each other's existence, and just keep complaining about the guy who created difficulties in their lives - even as time goes by, both of them keep cursing the guy who makes their lives and work go wrong, and the viciousness of the curse is getting deeper and deeper.

At first it was just "I'll probably beat that guy up if I catch him", but later it became "I'll definitely break his legs".

Until the last scene, the end of the whole play, the final plot reversal: the director and the doctor meet on the plane, and because of a series of coincidences, after the other party experienced the misfortunes of losing luggage and missing the plane at the airport, the curse was sublimated into the hope that the other party would "crash".

But... when they met at the same boarding gate, they greeted each other with surprise at the same time.

"It's you!" - the two actors said in unison, and this was the last line of the drama.

To be honest... after reading this script, Lin Yu even wanted to give it a try.

But he also didn't forget the purpose of fluoxetine.

What's more, this "script" is not perfect and still has some flaws - there are some hidden plot arrangements missing in the script.

Anyone with a mature understanding of drama theory will find that although the doctor and the director always curse each other because of coincidence, the surprise and enthusiasm of the two people when they finally meet produce dramatic results, which adds some depth to the play through irony.

But... this reversal doesn't make sense - the script lacks some hints and foreshadowing that the doctor and director should have known long ago, which the audience would suddenly realize after watching the ending.

In other words, although the ending is "unexpected" enough, it is not "reasonable" enough.

This flaw was probably left intentionally by fluoxetine.

because……

This would give her space to ask Lin Yu - asking how to add a hint of the "director" and "doctor" knowing each other in this "script".

Even further - although the script will not mention how the director and the doctor met, for the sake of script creation and for the actors to better perform, the creative team may have to fill in the reasons for the two people's acquaintance by adding stories and character biographies in the part that the audience cannot see.

In Lin Yu's subconscious mind, the blank part of Fluoxetine's script can naturally draw clues about the relationship between him and Schreiber!

Thinking of this, Lin Yu had completely understood the purpose of fluoxetine.

"I've figured out her tricks, so now... the initiative is mine."

Since Fluoxetine wants an answer... then I'll give her one.

After all, there was some secret connection between the identities of the "Director" and "Schreiber," and it was impossible to continue hiding Fluoxetine.

In the previous [copy], I summoned "Lao Zheng" - although the [Guest Invitation] can explain why the "Director" did this, how the "Director" could have a connection with the first generation "Freud" to the point of "inviting him to make a guest appearance" is also very intriguing.

'Schreiber' claimed to be the successor of Lao Zheng, and this time he appeared on the plane at the right time, and ended up helping the 'director' get rid of 'Bai Sha'... Lin Yu felt that if he were in 'Fluoxetine's' position, he would probably not be able to help but think too much.

But on the other hand... this is also the part that Lin Yu can take advantage of.

Lin Yu closed his notebook, an expression of appreciation appeared on his face, and he praised.

"You shouldn't just be in the prop department, junior, you have great writing skills - this script is brilliant."

"However, the script could use some polish... The dialogue in the final scene is still a bit rough, the excessive use of coincidences will cause audience fatigue, and the foreshadowing of the relationship between the two protagonists is also insufficient. Also, the mise-en-scène could use some more development to improve the overall completion of the script."

Lin Yu thought about it, gave his professional opinion, and also included the purpose of creating the script, which was what Fluoxetine was most interested in.

Fluoxetine took the notebook, and surprisingly... she was not in a hurry at all. Instead, she really began to think seriously about the part marked by Lin Yu.

"Oh, I'll polish the lines a little more. Does Senior have any specific suggestions?"

At this moment, Lin Yu was a little dazed.

It seems like the other party really... intends to perfect this script?
