Chapter 259: Western Tomb
Chapter 259: Western Tomb
"Kill me?" The snow giant laughed. "Just you?"
"Yes, I will." Chu Tian said, "I will definitely kill you and avenge Ling Shuang."
"Ling Shuang?" The snow giant was stunned for a moment, "Do you know Ling Shuang?"
"She is my wife." Chu Tian said.
The snow giant was silent for a moment, then said: "Ling Shuang is my friend."
Chu Tian was shocked. He didn’t expect that the snow giant actually knew Ling Shuang.
"Do you know her?" Chu Tian asked.
"Of course." The snow giant said, "She often comes here to play with me."
Chu Tian was even more confused. Why did Ling Shuang come here to play with the snow giant?
"Why did she come here to play with you?" Chu Tian asked.
The snow giant did not answer, but asked: "Why do you want to kill me?"
"Because you killed her." Chu Tian said.
"I did not kill her," said the snow giant. "She fell into a hole in the ice and drowned."
Chu Tian was shocked when he heard this.
Was Ling Shuang’s death really an accident?
Ling Shuang's death was actually an accident? Chu Tian felt mixed emotions. His clenched fists slowly loosened, and the cold light of the sword in his hand seemed to dim a little. He looked up at the snow giant, whose huge body cast a shadow in the dim cave, and looked a little lonely at the moment.
"She... likes to collect snowflakes. She says she wants to give them to her most powerful friends." The snow giant said in a muffled voice, with a barely perceptible sadness in his tone. "She... is very happy."
Chu Tian thought of Ling Shuang's brilliant smile, and his heart ached. He had always thought that the snow giant had killed her, but now that the truth was out, it was even harder for him to accept. It turned out that Ling Shuang's death had nothing to do with him or the snow giant, but was just a cold accident.
He dejectedly withdrew his sword and walked out of the cave. The wind and snow outside were still howling, but they were no longer as biting as before. His revenge was over, but it did not bring the expected relief, but instead made him feel more empty.
Walking aimlessly, Chu Tian unknowingly came to a small town. The town was bustling with people, which formed a sharp contrast with the silence of the Arctic ice field. He walked into a supply and marketing cooperative, intending to buy some dry food and water.
The supply and marketing cooperative was packed with people, and the queues of people waiting to buy things were winding. Chu Tian stood in line boredly, listening to the idle chatter of people around him.
"Have you heard? A big pit collapsed in the west of the capital!" an old lady said mysteriously.
"That's right! I heard that the pit is bottomless, like the gate to hell!" another aunt said.
"My nephew is working there. He said it was caused by the heavy rains over the past few days. There seems to be something under the ground..."
"Ancient tomb! It must be an ancient tomb!" a man said excitedly, "Maybe there are gold and silver treasures hidden in it!"
Ancient tomb? Chu Tian's heart moved. He remembered that Ling Shuang once said that he wanted to find the legendary Ice and Snow Sword. It was said that this sword was hidden in an ancient tomb. Could it be that this collapsed pit was the entrance to the ancient tomb?
An idea suddenly came to Chu Tian’s mind: Go and take a look!
As night fell, the west of the capital was completely dark. Chu Tian quietly came to the collapse site and saw a huge pit suddenly appearing in front of him. The surrounding soil was wet and exuded a damp smell. The pit was bottomless, like a giant beast with its mouth open, swallowing everything around it.
Chu Tian took a deep breath, used his lightness skills, and jumped into the pit.
As he fell, Chu Tian felt a sense of weightlessness and the wind whistled in his ears. He tried hard to control his body balance to avoid hitting the pit wall. After an unknown amount of time, he finally landed.
"Hiss..." Chu Tian took a breath of cold air and felt a sharp pain in his buttocks. He looked down and found that he had landed on a pile of dry bones!
With the weak light, Chu Tian looked around and found himself in a huge underground space. In the center of the space, there was an ancient altar, which was engraved with mysterious runes. The surrounding walls were hung with various weapons and armors that looked very old.
"Is this... the legendary ancient tomb?" Chu Tian thought to himself.
Suddenly, a gust of cold wind blew from the direction of the altar, and Chu Tian felt a chill. He quickly drew his sword and looked around vigilantly.
"Hehehe..." A sinister laughter came from the altar, making Chu Tian shudder.
Then, a black shadow slowly rose from the altar and floated in the air. The shadow's face could not be seen clearly, only a pair of scarlet eyes flashing with strange light.
"Who are you?" Chu Tian asked sternly.
"Hehehe... I'm the guardian of this place, and also your nightmare!" The black shadow made a sharp and piercing sound.
"Guardian? Are you... the owner of the tomb?" Chu Tian was shocked.
"Tomb owner? No, no, no, I'm just a poor slave, trapped here for thousands of years, waiting for someone to come and unlock the seal..." The black shadow's voice was full of resentment.
"Seal?" Chu Tian's mind moved, "What seal?"
"Hehehe...you'll know soon!" After the black shadow said that, it suddenly opened its arms, and a powerful force surged out of its body and swept towards Chu Tian.
Chu Tian quickly swung his sword to block it, but found that this force was extremely strong and he could not resist it at all. He was knocked out by this force and hit the wall heavily, spurting out a mouthful of blood.
"Ahem..." Chu Tian struggled to stand up, feeling that his whole body was about to fall apart. He looked up at the shadow, his eyes filled with fear.
“Hehehe…Give up, you can’t be my opponent!” The black shadow laughed triumphantly, “Be my sacrifice and I will release the seal!”
The black shadow pounced towards Chu Tian again, as fast as lightning. Chu Tian dodged quickly, but was still scratched on the arm by the black shadow's sharp claws.
"Ah!" Chu Tian let out a scream and blood flowed down his arm.
"Hehehe...your blood is so delicious!" The black shadow greedily licked the blood on his claws, with excitement flashing in his eyes.
Chu Tian's heart was filled with despair, he knew that he might die here today.
At this moment, a loud noise suddenly came from the altar, and a dazzling light shot out from the altar, illuminating the entire underground space.
"What's going on?" the black shadow exclaimed and quickly took a few steps back.
Chu Tian was also stunned, not knowing what was going on.
The light faded away, and a woman in white appeared on the altar. She was extremely beautiful and had an extraordinary temperament, like a fairy descending from heaven.
"Who are you?" the black shadow asked vigilantly.
"I'm here to stop you." The woman said lightly, her voice clear and pleasant.
"Stop me? Just you?" The black shadow snorted disdainfully.
"That's right, I can do it." After the woman said that, a long sword emitting cold air suddenly appeared in her hand, with the words "ice and snow" engraved on the sword.
"Ice and Snow Divine Sword!" Chu Tian was shocked and recognized this legendary sword.
