Chapter 501: My Heart Feels Like Being Knifeed
Chapter 501: My Heart Feels Like Being Knifeed
When Banggeng saw Qin Huairu, he burst into tears and threw himself into her arms.
"Mom, I...I..." Bang Geng choked and couldn't speak.
Qin Huairu hugged Bang Geng distressedly, looking at the scars on Bang Geng's body and the horrified expression on his face. The anger in her heart was like a barrel of gasoline, which was ignited and burned fiercely...
Qin Huairu's heart felt like it was being cut by a knife. She hugged the stick tightly, tears streaming down her face. The whispers of the neighbors around her pierced her ears like needles, making her feel extremely humiliated and angry.
"Who did it?!" Qin Huairu's voice was hoarse and trembling, like the roar of a wounded beast.
Bang Geng cried even harder, saying intermittently: "It's...it's Xu Damao and Sha Zhu..."
A fierce light flashed in Qin Huairu's eyes. She stood up suddenly, handed the stick to an old lady beside her, and turned to walk towards Xu Damao's house.
She walked to the door of Xu Damao's house and knocked on it vigorously, "Xu Damao! Come out!"
Xu Damao's lazy voice came from the room, "Who is it? It's so early in the morning, disturbing my sweet sleep!"
"It's me! Qin Huairu!" Qin Huairu's voice was full of anger.
The door opened, and Xu Damao stood at the door with sleepy eyes. Seeing Qin Huairu, he said in a sarcastic tone: "Hey, isn't this Widow Qin? What's the matter?"
"How dare you ask me what's wrong?!" Qin Huairu roared, "You beat my son like this, do you still have a conscience?!"
Xu Damao sneered, "Your son stole the chicken, so I taught him a lesson. Is there anything wrong with that?"
"Stealing a chicken?!" Qin Huairu laughed in anger, "What evidence do you have to accuse my son of stealing a chicken? Even if he did steal a chicken, you can't beat him like this!"
"I saw it with my own eyes!" Xu Damao said confidently, "If you don't believe me, ask Sha Zhu, he saw it too!"
Qin Huairu turned her head and looked towards Sha Zhu's house. Sha Zhu was standing at the door, looking at her with a gloating expression.
"Shazhu, did you see it too?" Qin Huairu asked.
Sha Zhu chuckled, "I...I saw it..."
Qin Huairu's heart was completely chilled. She didn't expect that Sha Zhu would join Xu Damao in bullying Bang Geng.
"Okay! Very good!" Qin Huairu said through gritted teeth, "Just wait for me!"
She turned and left, went back home, treated Bang Geng's wound, and changed him into clean clothes.
"Banggeng, tell mom, did you really steal the chicken?" Qin Huairu asked.
Bang Geng hesitated for a moment, then nodded, "I... I stole..."
Qin Huairu's heart was hurt again. She knew that Banggeng stole the chicken because his family was poor.
"Bang Geng, don't steal things anymore, understand?" Qin Huairu said seriously, "Mom will find a way to make sure you have enough food and clothes."
Bang Geng nodded and tears began to flow again.
Qin Huairu hugged Banggeng tightly, feeling helpless and sad. She knew that life was not easy for them in this courtyard.
In the next few days, Qin Huairu rushed around, trying to find ways to make money. She worked in the factory during the day and took care of her children at night. She was exhausted, but for the sake of her children, she gritted her teeth and persevered.
One night, Qin Huairu returned home and found Banggeng was not at home.
"Banggeng? Banggeng!" Qin Huairu called Banggeng's name anxiously, but the room was empty.
She ran to the yard and looked everywhere, but there was no sign of Bangteng.
Qin Huairu's heart sank to the bottom. She was afraid that Banggeng would go out and steal things again.
She ran to Xu Damao's house and banged on the door, "Xu Damao! Where did you hide my son?!"
The door opened, and Xu Damao said impatiently: "What are you doing? It's the middle of the night, and you're not going to let me sleep!"
"My son is missing! Did you hide him?!" Qin Huairu roared.
Xu Damao sneered, "What does your son's disappearance have to do with me? I'm not his father!"
Qin Huairu was so angry that she was shaking all over. She rushed forward and grabbed Xu Damao by the collar, "You...you..."
Xu Damao pushed Qin Huairu away and said, "What are you doing? Crazy woman!"
Qin Huairu fell to the ground and cried in despair.
Just then, Sha Zhu walked out of the house. He saw Qin Huairu sitting on the ground crying, so he walked over and helped her up.
"Qin Huairu, what's wrong with you?" Sha Zhu asked with concern.
Qin Huairu grabbed Shazhu's hand and cried, "Shazhu, Banggeng is gone... help me... please..."
Seeing Qin Huairu crying, Sha Zhu felt soft in his heart. He gently patted Qin Huairu's hand and comforted her, "Don't worry, I'll help you find it."
Sha Zhu and Qin Huairu searched everywhere in the yard, but could not find any trace of Bang Geng.
As the night deepened, Qin Huairu became more and more desperate. She didn't know where Banggeng had gone, or whether he was safe.
Suddenly, she heard a faint cry and followed the sound to the firewood pile in the backyard.
She pushed aside the firewood and saw Banggeng curled up in the pile, shivering.
"Bang Geng!" Qin Huairu hugged Bang Geng tightly in her arms.
Bang Geng saw Qin Huairu and burst into tears, "Mom... I... I'm scared..."
Qin Huairu hugged Bang Geng with heartache, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably.
She didn't know why Banggeng was hiding in the firewood pile, nor did she know what he had been through.
But she knew that she must protect her child and not let anyone hurt him again.
Qin Huairu hugged Banggeng tightly, and the child's thin body trembled in her arms like a frightened bird. Banggeng's crying gradually subsided and turned into intermittent sobs, and his little shoulders shrugged.
"Banggeng, tell mom why you are hiding here?" Qin Huairu asked softly, with a barely perceptible tremor in her tone.
Banggeng sobbed and said intermittently: "I... I'm scared... Xu Damao... He said he would beat me..."
Qin Huairu's heart sank suddenly, and a surge of anger surged from the bottom of her heart. Xu Damao, it's Xu Damao again! This man always likes to bully them, an orphan and a widow.
"Did he hit you?" Qin Huairu's voice became sharp. She let go of the stick and carefully examined his body, afraid of seeing any scars.
Bang Geng shook his head, "No... He was just trying to scare me..."
Qin Huairu breathed a sigh of relief, but the anger in her heart did not diminish at all. She hugged Banggeng in her arms, patted his back gently, and comforted him softly: "Don't be afraid, Banggeng, mom is here, mom will protect you."
Sha Zhu stood aside, looking at Qin Huairu and her son, feeling mixed emotions. He looked at Qin Huairu's haggard face and felt distressed. This woman had suffered so much for her child.
"Qin Huairu," Sha Zhu said, "If you have any problems in the future, come to me. Don't handle it alone."
